Vergangenheitsitzer
A type of person that constantly uses current events of other people to make various claims of their own amazing past: secret fame, prior knowledge, moral superiority, excellent taste, unique encounters, misunderstood genius. They think they've led a special life, and they believe it is their duty to tell you so at every turn of the road.
Don't get in a car with them. Avoid sitting with or next to them at a meal. Punctuate their sentences with raised eyebrows, if you must hear them.
