Blue birds fly

Absolutely marvelous singing by "Bruddah Iz"
Somewhere over the rainbow
Way up high
Touching. Sad to watch, in context.

I discovered the above song and artist thanks to another American Idol night. I suppose that makes fast-forwarding through the show an acceptable non-waste of time.

He frees his voice once the violon starts. Because it's a show with limited time available, he doesn't get to the Wonderful World part. Although I much prefer the above version by Iz, perfect choice for Jason. Can he find more fitting gems each week? Soft rendition. She has a sweet voice indeed. She doesn't look like a troll, probably meaning to roll like ocean waves. Aselin Debison's version is apparently very popular in Korea and Japan. I don't understand the modern Eastern Asian fascination with kitsch, maudlin scenes. Is it a substitute for romantic realism because that form of art is all but dead in Western civilization? Incidentally, and with no particular logic, I'd like to see what story Hayao Miyazaki would develop around this song. Um brasileiro. A young man. A bedroom. A guitar. And a good, somewhat shy voice.
